I just have so much joy in sharing this post… it kind of bubbles over and makes me smile silly happy smiles. Firstly, I got to hang out with a special friend for most of a day whilst photographing (always great!), but secondly, what we photographed / what I am posting is part of her tentative and brave ‘first steps’ in fulfilling a dream that has been in her heart for so long. And for that, she deserves a huge cheer!
Between juggling two rowdy boys, a hubby who travels loads and moving back to her home country after 5 years abroad, she’s daring to dream again about working with fabrics and to design & turn her ideas into the pretty clothes she so loves to make.
Berit, I wish you all the best for this new season ahead… and all the courage & wisdom you’ll need to know when and where to go, do & sew! I cannot wait to see all that you are still to create. Thanks for entrusting me with the task of photographing a few of the lovely items for your portfolio – it was such a blessing to be a part of your journey.
p.s. a few extra images will be posted HERE soon (including her lovely wedding dress & handmade crown, so pretty!). Do pop by in a short while.
I really had such a great time shooting this session with lovely Camelia & Sana last weekend. I first learnt about Camelia through an article written by her about how she managed to find herself in the position to set up a quaint little shop called Camelia’s Cupcakes in Stockholm shortly after arriving here as an expat (rather inspiring stuff for this newly landed expat who is herself wading into the business deep end too). Through an idea for photo-session in the shop we managed to connect, and that’s when Camelia mentioned that she’s expecting and thinking about a maternity shoot instead. Aptly named ‘cupcake’ by his adoring parents, the little one is due to make an appearance in about 7 weeks. Seeing the love & affection between Camelia and Sana as a couple – and their excitement about the pregnancy – made the shoot ever so special. (Together also with them being really game at trying out a few silly poses!)
I wish you both all that is good, lovely & beautiful for this wonderful new season in your lives – I cannot wait to see you and your little baby together!
sometimes I just forget to document the ordinary… being so focused on taking specific pictures for projects or clients, the loveliness of just ‘being’ is sometimes forgotten. hence here is today – a reminder of the simple joy of seeing our little one loving bath time. it’s such a fun & anticipated event in our household every evening with it’s very own set of rituals designed by her, be it the ‘mermaid roll’, her noddy-doll needing to swim or the princess ‘dress-up’ afterwards. i hope these will help me remember these precious times. she’s growing up so fast.
p.s. the spotted cheeks? she declared herself pippi longstocking for the day…
